On 9 October 2026, Pärnu hosted the second working meeting of representatives of Ukrainian women’s organisations and community activists, held under the international RIZA project. Women from Tallinn, Haapsalu, Pärnu, Kohtla-Järve and the island of Hiiumaa took part.

The participants included representatives of the non-profit Sõprade Kodu MTÜ (“Druzi Home”). The aim of the meeting was to strengthen cooperation between Ukrainian women’s organisations, share practical experience and find opportunities for joint projects.

During the discussions, participants presented their organisations’ work, completed initiatives and the difficulties they face day to day. Special attention was paid to attracting funding, partnerships, sharing resources and coordinating future events.

Participants stressed the importance of a lasting mutual-support network between organisations in different regions of Estonia: it makes it possible to combine efforts and quickly exchange information, knowledge and practical solutions.

The key moment of the meeting was the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation, which lays the foundation for further partnership and joint initiatives of Ukrainian women’s organisations in Estonia.

Participants are interested in continuing regular meetings and working together; some of the ideas proposed will need further work at the next meeting.

The event was organised by the Ukrainian Centre (Ukraina Keskus). Participants thank Tetiana Podolska and Nastia Snopok for preparing the meeting, for their hospitality and for creating good conditions for a professional dialogue.
